Sorry to duplicate, but as my original post in the 1.5 Template discussions got no read hits in 4 days I thought I'd try it here instead.
I publish a traditional (paper-based) local magazine. I use my website (
www.thesplash.com.au
) to provide summary content, a few articles, and links to my 'friends' and hopefully attract advertisers. The site currently uses Joomla 1.5, MediaMogul and a few tweaks. I'm not a web designer or developer so I'd like to keep things as simple as possible. I've got a few questions that some people with lots more experience than me might be able to offer some advice.
First, I'd like to structure the site so that when I publish a new issue of the magazine, I can 'archive' (not literally) the previous content somewhere self-contained. So, that might be a page with links to the different articles, or a new category, or something like that... I would like to take the existing front page content from the modules and create something relatively quickly and easily that has the old content listed.
Second, I have a list of advertisers and 'friends' that are just the default Web Links component - can anyone tell me how to customise this page? I'd like to at least display some images alongside each link, is that possible? Example here:
www.thesplash.com.au/index.php?option=co...gory&id=10&Itemid=38
If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful... Thanks.
