I'm wondering what kind of experience our fine community has had with joomla specific solutions for Help Desks / Support Centers??
Here is an example of a service / software platform I've reviewed several times now:
www.kayako.com/
I'd like to have a centralized SUPPORT solution across multiple websites... and as the people that will manage the support center need to be able to access via different PC's... I like the idea of a web based solution.
Any thoughts / suggestions / insights will be GREATLY appreciated!!
After reviewing all that we could find... we decided to go ahead with the
http://www.kayako.com/ owned license solution and go ahead and pay for the upgraded un-branded version.
This gave us access to 98% of the source code... and to have a robust HELP DESK that can expand as our projects and clients needs do.
If you come up with any additional suggestions... I'd love to include them on a master list... but I think we'll stop looking for awhile now.
Thanks as always!!

Good to hear kayako worked for you. I recently had a chat with one of their staff and came within an inch of paying for it. Decided against it though. For a few weeks after that I got emails from them saying they had a special reduced rate going. I still haven't gotten it, but there's a tip for anyone interested in the future. Have a chat with them showing interest, then back off. Hopefully they'll then offer you reduced rates via email
Yes... that is what we did (talked with them... then said we'd get back to them... and they offered a nice savings if we came back in the next few days.) I'm sure that you'll be happy with it once you've got it running. We've needed a company wide solution... so finally just selected what seemed to have the best support out there... AND was easy for our end users to use.

I am using support center, you can find it in the help desk area of the extensions section on joomla.org. It has been great for us so far, has every feature we could think of, besides a live chat feature. For that I turned help center live into a joomla module, and that seems to be doing great:)
I haven't messed with it in awhile.. But when I did.. like 1 1/2 yrs ago.. it had a amazing interface on the front and back end.. plus it allows you to put a live chat link on any page of your site
