Why does type look crappy on my PC but not my Mac

    • This question is not template specific because I've encountered it several times. My sites will look great in Firefox, Safari and Opera on my Mac. But when I hope over to my PC, even tho function and layout is perfect, the text will look choppy. I'm not versed enough with Windows to know what I'm doing wrong. Also, I don't think is specific to just one PC. My Windows 2000 machine and my Windows XP installation on my Mac (Parallels) give me the same look. It's not display issue because, again, I have a virtual machine that share a display with my Mac. I'm thinking PC users don't all get this shoddy view of the web but don't know how to clean things up.

    • By default XP and 2000 do not have anti-aliasing/font-smoothing enabled by default, you have to turn these on yourself in the display properties.

    • Thanks for the info. I didn't know you had to do something extra on Windows. Enabling Windows ClearType did the trick.
