I'm in the Denver area and I may go along with an assistant pastor at our church since we're going to build a joomla site for the church. I was wondering if I'd run into any RTers there.
That'd be cool! Love to have him join us in Denver!
(I get to be the chief bottlewasher on Expo - we did the Spring Expo in Chicago, and now the Winter one is planned for Denver. We're hittin' the slopes in Vail for the weekend after, too.)
You hadn't heard - we're taking it slow and steady, ramping it up.
We ran a summer event in Chicago as "JoomlaExpo" in late May - lots of fun. We expected maybe 200 (nope, just under 300). We expected people to come from Chicago and perhaps the suburbs (uh, nope, they flew in from all over the world). It was mind-blowing fun and phenomenal training for the day.
Based on that success, we decided to amp it up a bit for a Winter show. Do it for two days (Thursday and Friday), but keep it inexpensive, with more learning sessions, more exhibitor booths, and we're even going to do a black-tie optional CMSAwards Banquet, to recognize many of the best in the business. I suspect your work here at RocketTheme will be nominated .
Oh yeah, and it's in Denver, so a weekend in Vail will be a phenomenal way to kick back post-show too.
In accord with a respectful written request from OSM, we removed the "Joomla" part of JoomlaExpo, and renamed it "CMS Expo." While that move initially put the fear of the Big Guy into us, it actually led to some great new opportunities...We're going to do these twice a year, as long as we can keep the quality high, and the people keep coming...
I'm here, it is really a good experience for a newbie. I installed media mogul the other day before coming. The inspiration here is great. I mentioned your templates in one of the sessions. I'm glad I joined up with you!
