  • Creating a custom error page

    • I copied over the error.php file to my template directory (joomla_root/templates/hivemind/error.php). I then created a 404-error content page in Joomla (even created a menu item in "other menu"). The custom error page appears when called, but Joomla is placing the 404 page in the content area of the homepage (not a seprate 404 page). Can anyone offer a fix or some insight into this problem?

      Also, I use the sh404SEF component. Could sh404SEF have something to do with it? I set-up the 404 function in sh404SEF, but couldn't get that one to appear either. Any ideas?

      I followed the couple links provided at RT and searched around, but I find many potential answers, but no real solutions.

      I presume you found an answer to this as it works brilliantly on your site (really enhances the sites professionalism!!) Are the steps you outlined below all you need to do or are there any additional steps you need to take.
