Thoughts on setting up a site as a portal for two different service offerings

I am currently looking at developing a site wherein the company has two divisions under one roof. Each division shares the company brand but the division logo's are unique and the service offerings are quite different and easily enough to fill two sites with great information the visitor is looking for.
Is there an example of using a simple front door idea to direct the visitor to the services they might be looking for?
All thoughts on how to best accomplish this greatly appreciated.
