Questions preparing for phpbb3

I'm in the process of putting my site together. I had installed phpbb3 with the bridge in anticipation of the matching forum, but had some errors (not with that install but some other stuff) and wound up reinstalling joomla and my template.
I have not added the forum connection back, and was wondering if I should be waiting? It looks like things might function a bit differently?
Just wondering if I should install again or if it will be a waste of time.
Also wondering if anyone has suggestions on the components I should be using with my set-up. Running Joomla 1.5.7 and planning to turn it into a paid members site.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may have answers. - What fresh hell is this?

I was assuming that the new templates are merely wrapped, so it would be just installing the phpbb3 style, more or less. If this is the case, I can't see a reason the wait, as you could have everything up and running and then just switch the look.
Good question, though...Mr Miller & Co?

you can wait or you can move on the forum - your main concern is going to be content and as long as you're using phpbb3 then you're not really going to have any issues
