Problem in IE7 (Not RT-template related)

Posted 16 years 6 months ago
    • Hi,

I'm having a problem with a template I made in IE7. The website is www.lendfirstfinancial.com . The client said it was messed up on a computer he was using. The PC was using IE7 and the resolution was 1280x1024. He said the login box was screwed up or something to that effect. The strange this is is that I changed my PC's resolution to 1280x1024 and used IE7 and it looked fine, so I have no idea what the problem would be, let alone how to re-create the problem on my PC.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks!

    • I had a client tell me the were using IE7, because they just bought a new computer - of course, they actually had crap IE6 loaded, So, I would start with asking the client for the IE7 version (good way to politely ask).

Second, check if it is a cache problem (again, previous experience) - if they previewed the site while you were developing it and then you did changes and finally released the final - by chance they can have some stuff hanging on that machines browser.

      - Fixing it is easy - you tell them go to FIREFOX.COM :P
      - Unfortunately a lot of people still use IE6, but I stopped caring about adjusting for it - I now give points and rewards to my customer that switch to FireFox.com - every month they get bonus points (which they can trade in for gifts) just for using FireFox.com and the flaws that show up in IE6 - I put messages there saying "because you are using a piece of crap browser that came out 6 years before the Ipod was invented in the year 2000 - you cannot see this website properly, lots of cool features on the World Wide Web have came out since 2000 when IE6 (the browser you are viewing this site with) was invented (kind of like how when TV switched from B&W to Color or music switched from Transistor Radios to Ipods, well browser have come of age and your still in B&W, Transistor la la land). Ipods cost hundreds of dollars and upgrading your browser is free and only takes a couple of minutes. So, if your to lazy to update a browser for free and make your computer safer, enjoy faster web browsing and see the features that are hidden from you - that's your problem. I will no long waste my time trying to make my websites shitty so they work on IE6 and ruin it for people who do update their browsers, because your and idiot who invites spyware, malware and other security problems with your outdated browser. Instead I will make my websites work on modern FREE browsers for people who can hit the update button within let's say "the last f***ing 8 years. It's 2008 PEOPLE UPDATE YOUR FREE 2000 BROWSER - LOSER!!!!!" :P

Actually, I am a little harsher. ::) But you get the point. No Mercy For Idiots!
