    avi (video) in template

Posted 16 years 5 months ago
    • Hi can anyone tell me the best way to add an avi/video file to a template? I intend to host the clip locally on my server and do not want to use youtube or anything like that. The problem I have is that the clip has a large filesize, the clip itself is only about 10secs long. Could anyone advise the best way to reduce the file size down from approx 4Mb to something that will work on a website?
I don't want the clip to fill the entire screen, just a little box would do... any ideas?

    • If you have no tool to convert your video and reduce its size, you can use this online tool: www.media-mobi.com/en/

    • Please don't use AVI! The reason why you should not use AVI is that it's not really a video format. It is only a container that could basically contain anything. You will have users that will complain about it not working due to the lack of codecs most people have. What is working on your computer may not work with the masses.

Maybe you can convert to XviD and then import it as FLV or something. I'm not sure if Flash 10 has some compression algo :)

    • You can zip and host your file in your server and PM me the link to download it. Then I will convert the file to FLV for you with a professional software (On2 Flix Pro) if you want the best quality.
