Inserting HTML code into post

Is it possible to insert html code into a post?
Example:
<meta name="robots" content="noodp" />
I tried putting this into one of my articles that I wrote for my site and the text did not appear.
I'm stumped on this one! I see that my code displays correctly when posting to the forum.
Please help!!

If you are trying to post HTML into a post on your Joomla site, I find that at time I must go to Global Settings and turn off All WYSIWYG editors. This always helps for me...

- Or, if you the WYSIWIG is turned on, you can click the "HTML" button in the WYSIWIG, then insert the HTML code inside it.
