How to get traffic?

Here's the thing. I'm almost done with a "pokercommunity" now... But I have no idea on how to get traffic and members, lol ;D..
any idea? ???

Advertise on Google.
I have a client who is getting 13,000 hits a day. But it took $100/day in Google advertising to get that. But I don't know for how long they had to advertise at that rate.

I have to admit that's kinda over my budget. But I guess I can give Google a try

You don't have to spend that much. I've gotten traffic from $30/mo. And you can choose websites to show your Google ad on. For example if you want to advertise on Joomla.org you can specify that site.
Also, if you can get listed on dmoz.org, you will get picked up by many other directories that get their listings from dmoz.

You are full of good information tonight, ma'am.
Tell me more...one could specify their competitors' sites ONLY and the ads will only be shown on those sites? (until they block them, of course, which is what I used to do to theirs).
Hmmm...food for thought.

DMOZ is dead. You can wait for years to be aproved and only if you are lucky
I had one tiny client who I got on DMOZ immediately, and other clients who couldn't get on. Even a historic church in downtown NYC couldn't get on.
