hey everyone. Im starting a website selling world of warcraft gold and other items. Due to often fraud when it comes to these items id like to add an ip logger into my paypal button or something or everytime someone buys something it logs there IP so i can check if where they bought from is the address on there paypal.
I have heard many sad stories about selling digital things like that, warcraft gold, webmoney, etc.
I have one friend here also has lost a lot of $$ due to chargeback by selling webmoney japan.
If you use paypal, for sure, they(the people who chargeback you) will win. Paypal doesn't protect seller for digital (untrackable) products. So, here I tell you his tricks :
- Don't offer payment by paypal. My friend use another payment method like Liberty Reserve, Money Booker, and he says he doesn't get any chargeback from those methods. BUT : the sell is get decreasing compare when he used paypal. Yeah, paypal is still more popular, but a big hole for the fraud transaction
Or
- If you still want to use paypal, make 2 accounts with paypal. So, you can make one paypal account to accept the transaction. Provide the real address and information (don't put invalid info) but just don't register your credit card or your bank in this account. The bad thing is your account will be shown as "Unverified". As soon as you get the payment, transfer the $$ to your second paypal account. Keep the balance always to zero.
So, if you got chargeback, paypal can't get your money from the first account.
I don't know whether this is legal or not to do this, but I also can't see what's wrong by doing this. We don't cheat and we don't steal We just protect our business too, right ?
