My name is Helen, from Sweden, and I have made a huge misstake!!
I talked to the supportteam and was recommended to post here
and ask if someone can help me!
First I must say, that when it comes to this kind of work...i. e. creating a website...
I know nothing about programming and tech talk, a real newbie in other words!
I just started with my Joomla1.5 site at a swedish webhotel.
My webhost recommended paid templates and gave me a few links,
one was to RocketTheme, I took a look and fell in love with Vertigo_j15.
Beautiful template and perfect for my site, since I am an astrologer.
So I rushed to pay for 1 year club membership,
downloaded the Vertigo template and first then I read in the text, that I need to install
Adobe Fireworks for the logo-change.
And this is where the big mistake becomes apparent.
I can't install the Adobe Fireworks, I don't have Xp or Vista...(min. req.)
I run on win2000 professional, and can't afford to change to something else, win2k works like a clock, never caused any problems, so I have had no reason to change.
So I paid 90 US dollars for an absolute splendid product, and it turns out, I can't use it!
Here is my plea: Can someone who already have Fireworks help out, Please?
ONLY 2 things which I need to correct.
1. To get my logo in place
2. the picture with the planets seems to be more narrow on my screen, compared to the presentation on RT site, it needs to be "streched out" downwards to cover a bigger area vertically. Perhaps Firework is not needed for that part?
My site is so new, only a few days old, that it is not yet online and is set in glob fig as coming soon....the link to my site ...well as I said, I am a newbie on all this, so please bare with me...how shall I provide a link in that case?
I can ofc get it online in its original downloaded form, so you can have a look.
Is that helpful?
You've applied the template to a standard Joomla install.
Quickest way to resolve this:
Go to the download section, download the Rocket Launcher and reinstall.
Delete the tables from your database or create a new one, create a new directory for the Rocket Launcher install.
Vertigo RocketLauncher
This package contains a full Joomla 1.5.9 install as well as the Vertigo template and demo sample content allowing you to easily deploy a perfect copy of the Vertigo demo site with a few clicks. (Only for use as a NEW Joomla install).
ocf is short for "of course", sorry for my sloppy writing!
I see the point you're making,
only thing is that at this particular webhotel we can't choose and download a version of joomla 1.5 from "outside" their cp-panel.
We have to take the one in their cp panel menu, but they are the best in Sweden and active joomla fans, and they are always first to have all updates and lates versions of joomla.
Maybe I just have to give up on that template all together.
Thanks so much for your help, JEM
I have saved your answers and I shall speak with the webmaster and show him your suggestion and then we will see...
in all other webhotel's you get an FTP account so you can upload your files there. Normally you just extract the Rocketlaucher to your desktop and then transfer the files to the server via an FTP client such as Filezilla. When that is done you just start your browser and then go to
www.starwisdom.se/installation
This is very easy and only takes 15-20 minutes including the upload
I'm amazed that your webhost is not offering basic functionality such as FTP

Happy news
I talked to my webmaster and he is a RocketTheme member as well and knows what template I want for my site....
He will install the Vertigo Rocket Launcher from his end and do all the work for me! Great service!
He knows that I am totally lost in this matters
To prim...
I just want clearify that my webhotel DO have all accounts and tools one can muster to dream up, so an FTP account is there as well, among tons of other specialities that is totally forreign territory to me
