converting 1.0.15/SMF to 1.5/phpBB - any tutorials? Help?

- I have a working 1.0.15/SMF (with JoomlaHacks bridge) install right now on a fairly popular page. I want to convert it to J1.5 plus convert the SMF forum to phpBB. Any thoughts on which to do first? I saw an SMF-phpBB converter which looks promising and I also see the 1.0.X-1.5 conversion tutorial. Anyone done this?

- Best thing to do is test the conversion on a local install, or a copy of your forum on your server a few times 'till you figure you've got it right and it'll work.

Converting Joomla 1.0.15 to Joomla 1.5.16 using the migration assistant that's listed on their wiki works well but note that it only pulls in the information from the core Joomla tables. Anything outside of core Joomla stuff needs it's own migration script and you'll also need the new versions for 1.5 for all your extensions.
I prefer to sort of start fresh on a migration and just pull in the Joomla core stuff and then start new with extensions. It's a chance to really clean out your database and use the most up-to-date extensions.
