Wholesale Products and None Wholesale Products

We need to set up our catalog so that a wholesale account can log in and purchase the products we sale wholesale at the set discount. But, we have some products which are not sold at a discount (ie we do not make them and can only sell them at the normal resale price). For example: we make a bar of soap and sell it to stores at a 50% discount. We also sell on our site some gift basket which we get from another company and list on the site for $25.00. When a wholesale account log in right now, they will see the soap at the 50% discount and the basket but we do not sell the basket at a discount.
How can i set this up?

Check out the feature of various shopping cart components and see if one fits your needs.
Surely there a way to separate items for sale by category.
Another alternative, you could create a series of pages and separate the items for regular users and registered users.
Non registered users would be able to access certain pages but if given a login could view other pages as well. - Thanks,

the customer wants to be able to sell both to all customers so every product has to be public.
I use VM and I have not had much luck so far finding a component for that. ANy other ideas?

you can do this with virtuemart, check out the newer version of virtuemart, you can setup discounts in virtuemart on products, heres a preview of an product that is discounted using virtuemart, you can setup virtuemart to use percentages or by totals In virtuemart under products tab.

- I have seen how we can set a discount on a product or all products but how can i set it up so that a certain type of customers get discounts on certain products. I know you can create user types and give them a discount but that discount is over all products. I need to be able to set up a user type (wholesale A and Wholesale B for example). Wholesale A would get a 50% discount on all products. Wholesale B would only get a 50% discount on certain products. For example wholesale B would get a 50% discount on a towel and a hat. But they would not get any type of discount on a bag. Does that help and can anyone think of a way to make that happen?

what i came up with is that you can create shopper groups for registered users, so when users sign up they get automatically assign to an group that have an discount. for instance, Gold Grp1 : 10%, Silver Grp : 20%, and so on, when visitor sign up through shop or joomla they get assign to one of these groups that you want them to be assign to, how this would work is by using an ACL component i believe, also there is an add-on for virtuemart calld AlphaGetCoupon you can use that work in Conjuction with its primary component calld Alpha Userpoints,

am currently testing with alpha userpoints, where i can have a user gain points, by buy or giftcards, or maybe just having someone else sign up through website/shop, when gain an certain points, they get assign to an special shopper group where they get discount on products. as i said am still testing this method and to get it to work perfectly, i am looking to get an ACL program such as JUGA, or ACLplus, still comparing which one should i use, as i want an ACL that works in conjuction with my other computers like AEC, which i believe JUGA is the one i know that work so far with it. so am exploring my options, ill post back any info that i came up with
