    • You could use a list layout as opposed to a blog layout.

You may also want to check over at joomla.org for some type of tree menu extension that will list all the items in a Section or Category.
    • Thanks,

    • I just looked at a list layout, but I want both a list and the full contents of the article. Kind of like a FAQ with a top list that links down to articles (content) below.

    • This is going to sound a bit weird but bear with me.
On this page I have a section with icon (the brain) and intro text. Below it I have categories with their intro text.
      www.wiredroo.com/index.php?option=com_co...tion&id=13&Itemid=35
The individual items however have NO intro text. they are just listed as items. This is a new site with patchy content so it might be clearer here:
This is a list of 4 articles - not much here to entice a customer to go deeper.
      www.wiredroo.com/index.php?option=com_co...id=37&layout=default

What DOES have room to provide a description is the link collection. There is no reason why your list of links should not be entirely internal. Here is an example of links listed by category. Click on those and you would be taken into an article with full graphic.

      www.wiredroo.com/index.php?option=com_we...catagility&Itemid=36
I guess your next question will be if you can add a thumbnail - well that's an extension. Within the core product tho - this is what you can do.

Nice looking graphic design choices by the way.

    • Thank you for your comments!!

Your last example is almost exactly what I'm trying to do, I think.

I originally wanted to know if everything could just be on one page with the above link taking the user to the below anchor... does that make sense? Do you know of any way to do this?

But if that's not exactly possible (easily), then... how did you make this link list in your last example?

      Thanks again!

    • You can do 2 types of link lists (more really, but let's not go there). The link manager has its own category list that is independent from the main Joomla categories. The categories that drove the page you saw are here:
List of Link Categories within the link Category Manager
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

You can have just one category, But it might be appropriate to classify your equipment by size, supplier or application.

The display page is then a menu item.
Select Web Links as a Menu Item
This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

Choose either a display like I have where it is all categories, the user clicks on a category and it expands or just display one category per page already expanded into a listing like you want.
I look forward to hearing from others about a much better way of doing it, but that's my approach until then. :)
