    • Hi there, I'm just wondering if there's a way to make certain menus/content available for certain users. I'm fairly new to this part of the Joomla system (heck to Joomla in general, but I'm getting there), so I'd appreciate any tips, links, advice, etc.

      Thanks! :)

    • hi renee!

when you set up a new menu, menu item, module, article etc, always keep your eyes open for the option "access level". if set to public, it will be shown to all users, if set to "registered" only logged in users will be able to see it.

i have attached 2 screenshots, one of them shows the option for a menu item, the other one for a module. (always at the buttom of the screenshot)

      hope that helps, kat :)

    • Hi Kat

Yep, I gotcha. I worked that one out a couple of days ago (and was very impressed with myself), but now I want to go a bit further and have certain areas for certain users. For example, I'm sharing some holiday snaps and only want to share certain pictures with certain people. Therefore, it'd be great if I could say 'Jon's photos' are only available to him and so on. Does that make sense? More importantly, is it do-able in Joomla?

      Thanks again.

      Regards
      Renée
