Can anyone tell me how to force an mp3 to download, I am a preacher with a christian site and want to offer my mp3's for free download but when you click them now they just stream, I would like them to force download, any suggestions?

Hopefully this will work
Create a .htaccess in your mp3 directory and add this code:
<Files *.mp3>
ForceType application/octet-stream
Header set Content-Disposition attachment

Thanks... a question tho...
my files are hosted on a different server than my website, I teach bible school and all the files are hosted on their site, it didn't make sense to me to upload them all on my server also so I am linking to them from my site...
so do I need to create the .htaccess and put it on their server?

Ok I put the .htaccess on my site in my audio folder and it force downloads from there, I also put it on the server on the bible school site but the files there still stream instead of download... my site is here

you will find the mp3's under audios, all the files are on a different server except the word of God series...
any help appreciated...
