Bug Issue with Forum & Advanced Search?

Hi,
I couldn't find an appropriate forum for this post, so this is my first venture here.
I had an issue with clients running Firefox 3.x an MacOSX 10.5.x in which a lot of article pages are basically blank white areas.
So go to my reliable and trusty Search. My buddy let me down, typing in "mac" in forum or advance search gets me 'No Results'. So I figured the search content must have to be a minimum of four letters.
So I tried "+mac +firefox" and this time I got results. So I clicked the first one listed Display problems in IE6 but alas there is no Mac or mac to be found. Going through the rest of the threads it is hit or miss whether the word 'mac' or 'Mac' is there.
So according to the PC-MAC commercials on TV if I had run this search on a Mac Pro with the Intel Xeon Nehalem processor, I wouldn't have these problems?
Any way does anybody have a better way of searching for this?
