What Is Your Computer Spec?

    • I'm interested to know what specifications your computers are. I've been toying with the idea of getting myself a new PC. However, I've got a bit of a problem. I rely on the Kensington trackball mouse and the software that runs it is not compatible with Vista. This means that I can only use Windows XP, or Win7 (not entirely sure what this is) apparently you can only go up to 4 GB of RAM with Windows XP professional. I use photo shop on fireworks quite a lot and don't want to go to all the trouble of building a new computer if it's just not worth it because I am limited to this amount of RAM.

At the moment I'm using Hewlett-Packard with 2 GB of RAM.

    • Always good to have a faster, more powerful computer. More RAM, More RAM, More RAM! :) As I don't use a 'PC' in the sense of using Windows, but might as well get the ball rolling with a quote from the What Mac are you Thread we have going here:-

You probably should be contemplating ditching XP with W7 coming over the horizon pretty soon as its quite good actually.

    • Hi,
Yes, I agree - the more (RAM) the better :)
Here are the specs of my other PC - I am using a laptop now.

RAM - 12GB OCZ Gold Kit . The kit has 4 RAM sticks, 4 GB each, but the Motherboard cannot support all of them.
      CPU model: Intel Xeon x3360
      Cooler: Asus Triton 78
      Motherboard: Asus P5Q-E
      Video card: MSI RX3650, 512MB GDDR3
      HDD: 1,5 TB Seagate Barracuda.
The purpose of the system is to run several virtual machines... I will install soon Exchane 2007, running on Windows Server 2008, and Exchange 2007 Edge Transport, running on VM on W2K3. But first I will have to finish my web-site :)
