K2 & searching forums

Is anyone else annoyed with, or have a solution for, not being able to search forums for posts with k2 because there are too few characters? If I search for k2 component, I get results for component, but it omits k2. I realize it's in the forum's configuration, and I run into no matter who's forum I'm searching. Guess JoomlaWorks didn't think of this before they named it....or maybe forum owners would be willing to change the config. of forums???
