Firefox is an absolute pain

  • Firefox is an absolute pain

    • I have been really happy with Firefox. However recently it has been giving me a few problems. Occasionally when I try and open a website a message pops up telling me that I need to close Firefox or it is not responding and I need to restart my system. It is becoming increasingly frustrating because it is happening on both computers. Anybody else having this problem?

    • FireFox works for me 100% - are you on a PC or Mac? If PC then blame the PC if you have a Mac then it has to be anything but the Mac :cheesy:

Sorry I have no idea working fine fir me....

    • i must say firefox is getting slower and i've also noticed a few issues over the past few weeks

i mostly just use chrome now for browsing/email, or safari (on pc) as i find both of those fine. but firefox is needed when actually working .. for the extensions

    • I have been having issues with Google lately and I've just realized now I have gone back to Internet Explorer that it is Firefox that is causing the problem. In the last couple of days, I wasn't even able to open up some websites within Google, everything works perfectly okay in IE7. Maybe I'll try uninstalling Firefox and then leave it for a few days and then try again next week. At least I know now it is Firefox and not my computer

    • @Penn, have you tried completely clearing your history? Cookies, off line data, web history etc, and it could also be an installed extension. I would love to try this new chrome browser but alas still no Mac support.

    • I was having an issue with my cache yesterday. I migrated our website over to 1.5 which happened to be on a different server to the old 1.0 . I changed the name servers but could I clear my cache? The old website was still showing despite clearing my cache about 20 times. When I checked on other computer they had change successfully. In the end I had to restart my computer. However, but they seem to have a problem with changing content on websites, that changes Okay. I've actually been using Google Chrome today and it seems okay, although running a little slow than other browsers I would say. But all in all, it's working a damn sight better than Firefox.

Yes, I have cleared my cache history etc. didn't make any difference. I'm 99.9% that all my problems have been caused by Firefox, put it that way.

    • I am getting seriously hacked off with Firefox. I used to think that IE was a load of crap but Firefox has now taken its place. I just don't know what's wrong with it, it just gives me household time, not just some one computer, but on two. I decided that I would do away with 3.5 so I installed 3.0 but it is still playing up. When I try and open a website, I get a box come up. The title heading is "Close Firefox" and inside the box says Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

Anybody got any ideas why it's doing this? I think I'm going to jack Firefox in because it just keeps playing up all the time

    • FireFox has become a piece of junk with the latest up date. It doesn't work well on XP or Vista.
