What is the best commercial editor?

Posted 17 years 9 months ago
    • Hello there! ;)

I would like to use a good & complete editor for my joomla sites. I'm using JCE and all the plugins; it's a very good editor for me (principaly with the images manager plugin) BUT I hate to turn off and turn on everytime! I use javascripts code in my contents (adsense, afiliate programs, etc.) and want to have an editor to work decently with.

If you have any experience with a commercial editor please share with us ;)

    • Im using WySiWyg Pro... great for my CB Users because they have "Editor, HTML, Preview" as tabs...

However I havent found any editors yet that allow all codes like script.

Flipsider, do you have tried to insert an adsense code in the HTML tab? It's working?
Franck have you tried the latest version(beta) of JCE?
Nop Gollum, I will take a look at the new version ;D
I use Asbru HardCore Web Content Editor, it's very powerful and can be used in Safari, which is not common. Demo available.
WOW Yves, this editor seems to be amazing. I tested the demo and I have been able to insert a GG adsense code directly in the content!!! And seems to work fine :D :D :D
      Yes, it's very powerful.

I'm using it but I'm finding out that it doesn't like Vortex very much. I'm trying to figure out which one I want more and it's starting to look like I need a new editor.

      Hi Franck
I also have had similar frustrations with turning editor off and on and I just made myself a new login with a profile of no wysiwyg editor to get around this problem of messed up scripts and stripped tags.......
so when I know my editing requires some scripting etc. I just use my nowysiwyg profile.....

      Hi SureLurksalot!
I really would like to be able to work with wysiwyg and add some code when I need. Also, I have some site with A LOT of diferent contents on each page and sometime I could edit an article with some javascript (because I forgot the code in the content) and I loose time to repare my fault :D
The Asbru HardCore Web Content Editor can work exactly like this. I made a test in the demo site and I was impressed with the power of this editor. The cost is £25 for one licence :P but I think it's a great choice.
After some more tests, I will explain here what I really think about it ;)

      Cheers!

    • I use WYSIWYG Pro as well.. Some minor issues from time to time, but it's still around 10.000 times better than Tiny, JCE and similar free ones.. Just a lot more solid and it's actually WYSIWYG :)

    • Ill be watching this thread because I have no qualms about paying for a decent editor, one that will indeed handle scripts etc. Certian it will save a bundle of time.....time to use the new bookmarks mod on the forum here......

Will The Best WYSIWYG Please Step Forward!
