Was about to say the same...
There are many free alternatives, but they do not in any way come close to commercial editors except the price.
Anyone saying something else and they are not telling the truth.
Sorry Thomas but I'm not good in english and I don't understand what do you mean ??? Can you explain me your idea?

I purchased the Asbru Editor and first I'm using the basic version to learn how it works. I'm really happy with this editor. I can do everything I need and it's easy to work with code :D :D :D :D :D My life is easier for sure ;D
Asbru let you work with another editor if you want. You can have 2 editor in the same page! Also Asbru load fast.

You can try the demo if you want.

Flipsider, thanks for your reply. ;)

Great! Did you see that you can easily define imagemap areas (rectangle or circle)?

    • Yes! I tried this function too! Very goog ;)
Thank you Yves to show me this editor.
I can manage my articles and javascripts code easily. Also it's much better to modify html code and the flexibility to build and modify a table is very very good. I'm an happy Asbru user fan now ;D
I'm planning to buy another licences for my other sites and I recomended it to a friend.

Your comments about the Asbru Web Editor make me test it on the Asbru website and afterwards i bought one license.

The basic installation, uploading the whole hardcore directory into root, installing/publishing the mambot, switching default and accordingly user editor to Asbru, was quick and easy done. After that i edited my first content but there are no template specific styles in the style list. Then i configured the mambot adding the information where to find the style sheet for the used template. I tried it with the complete path (templates/rt_bentobox_dark/css/template_css.css) and with the file name only, but without success.

Where is the mistake i make? Do you or anybody else have the decisive tip for me to get my Asbru copy work?

      Thanks in advance

      Christoph

    • Wow that is pretty nifty asbru thinger. I might have to make the plunge. As for now i just make it in DW and then C & P it into the no wysiwyg editor. Keeps things in a decent array i guess especially when adding flash and stuff to sites. the turn out okay but this might be the answer to making some really sweet things with Joomla. As opposed to fighting with what joomla decides to do with the things i make in DW
