Howdy, neighbor! ...lived in Kaiserslautern (K-Town) for awhile and frequented Mannheim a lot (Disco Circus drinking hefe weizen), before I got shipped up to Baumholder to play 'real Army' for a few years.
...not to mention drinking gallons of Glühwein in Nuremburg every Christmas.

Lemme see, 1982 - 1986, Ben Franklin Village, Mannheim (21st Support Command)
1972-1976, Nuremburg, Merrell Barracks (working at Feucht Airfield, Helicopter Crewchief) - Yeah, it's a small world. I miss the people, the food, but not, The Army. - Funny, but my first tour, (1972) computers were not invented yet. - and the Al Gore hadn't invented the Internet yet either, that was something like almost 20 years further down the road. No digital photography yet either in 72, and no Compact Discs - the 1982 tour, VHS tapes were blooming, and a little thing called "Beta" as a format.

I wasn't much into the wine when in Germany, except for Lambrusco & 7'up - I was usually drinking Asbach (Brandy) - I still am a brandy kinda guy, Korbel 'n Coke. My share of beer of course is fondly remembered.. And the food, the people.. I remember many, many times at Stammtisch, all over Germany. - just a little "denglish" (deutsch + english) coming from the german phrase "Ich brech' zusammen!" wich means something like "to break down mentally" (hope I can trust my dictionary) :cheesy:
