Wow... I see what I've been missing!

Posted 15 years 2 weeks ago
    • I have a Laptop with a 17" wide-screen monitor. I've always used either the Adobe RGB or Kodak RGB for color-management. Recently, Apple updated their "Apple RGB" color-manager for my LCD monitor and vid-card.
      WOW!!! what a difference!
It's still 32-bit color but it's optimized differently somehow to give more vivid images! It' really works! It helps a lot in Photoshop, Jasc-Paintshop-pro and fireworks!

I guess I didn't know that I was blind, but now I see!
      It's like I bought a new monitor!
I see why a lot of professional graphics are done on Macs!

    • Nice tip Robert :D

I noticed one of your other posts about Google Ad-blocking add-on.
Do you use Chrome to edit your sites? I prefer the full fledged functionality of firefox myself (couldn't live without firebug, xmarks or GA).

    • I test my sites using 7 different browsers:
      1) Firefox
      2) Opera
      4) G-Chrome
      5) Safari
      6) IE 8 or emulated IE7 (I won't install IE6 or IE7 back onto my machine)
      7) Firebird is a stripped-down Beta version of Firefox which is excellent for testing load times)
But yeah! I agree with you, I use FF about 95% of the time!

    • I tend to test in Firefox, Chrome and IE 7+8.
Never heard of Firebird before, might give that a try.

You can't beat Firefox for functionality - helps no end trying to find code in Joomla for me!

    • sRGB-colorspace is smaller then AdobeRGB thats why print-designers often want AdobeRGB for soft-proofing – tho only a few monitors (really high-end) can show that ...

sRGB is the poor brother with the advantage that everyone can see more or less the same ...

Like I said, Fire Bird is a stripped-down beta version of FF from years ago. (in BETA it was code-named Phoenix) BTW, that's where the "fire" in Firefox came from.
You might be able to find it somewhere. I've had my copy for years.

    • True Henning, you could say that AdobeRGB is for printing and sRGB is for anything you put online :D
