Frontpage layout question

- I am trying to figure out how to have the body of a front display some introduction content and news items. The problem I have is that when someone posts a news item to the front page, the introductory text gets pushed down and the news item is up top. I can edit it, but I'd like less technical people posting things to have the frontpage option without messing up the layout of this intro text. Another way to think of it is that I'd like to be able to "lock" a content item at the top of the frontpage list, if that makes sense. This seems like it should be really simple, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Hi Kent,
Have you tried editing to edit the HOME menu item in the 'Mainmenu' (Menu/Mainmenu/Home). The Home button is linked to the Frontpage component. You may be able to edit the parameters there.

You could also put some introductory content inside a module and publish the mod in a position above the main content area. Of course your template would have to have a position open.
