I need to create custom forms for several joomla sites, does anyone have a favorite? One that is easy to implement and I can put more than one item per line. I would also like to customize it so it takes on the look and feel of the site. I checked rok extenstions and didn't see much and joomla has a bunch of them. My client doesn't want to spend any money on it, so thought I would ask you all.
If you want a good form that you can customize you may have to pay just a bit. Pennies on the dollar really... when you consider development and reliability. I've used RSForms and I like it. There are many options.
If you want to work with the records once submitted, I would suggest Fabrik (
www.fabrikar.com
), as it is hands down the most powerful form component in the Joomla world.
If you just need a simple form engine to have data emailed to you or whatever, perhaps RSForms or one of the others, like ChronoForms, would be better, as there is some overhead with Fabrik, given its power.
An easy solution is
JotForm
, a web based wysiwyg form builder.
Once the form is built, you have two options:
1. embed it in an article or in a custom module
2. paste the full source code and edit the css, if needed
Retired, but build and run websites for organisations of school leaders and others - e.g. http://www.icponline.org, http://www.aspa.asn.au, http://www.appa.asn.au

I also use Phil Taylor's package. I found that it was easy to learn and use, and it worked. He also gave me excellent support to fix a problem that I caused.
