    • Now there are two RT members developing a cpanel webmail extension for joomla

      who will win the race???
      Mathew or Peter?

what have I done?? this could cause a split in RT membership along the lines of the format battles:
      BluRay vs HD-DVD
      VHS vs Beta

Damn what if Andy prefers one and Kevin the other?

      Oh doom is nigh!

Ha! You're funny GollumX! Nothing like good and healthy competition! However, Matthew and Peter could join forces and tackle the issue together and split the profits if the component goes commercial. Seems that there would be a good bit of need for that one.

As an ancient proverb once said, "Two are better than one, for they will have a good reward for their labor."

Of course, this is only a suggestion. No one is obligated to abide. May the best component win!

    • I don't want to create a hole in space-time ;), but from what I have seen here, there are some key differences in the way that Peter and I are tackling these problems.

Also, I don't know if Peter was planning a commercial or an open project.

I was thinking commercial, but I wanted to actually build a Joomla! Webmail component, which would probably have to be open source (since I don't want to code that from scratch), so I will be breaking the project into pieces that are designed to work together, or on their own.

Ok, off to put on the coffee, and prepare to go without sleep for a while. ;)

Yeah me too!! - Got a mate with some amazing tee shirt designs who wants to get a shop together, think this may be a good fit for him. He is actually joining my team so I can offer/provide better graphical services.

    • I'm really liking the JD-WP component. It takes a fairly standard-looking Wordpress Blog and putting it into Joomla... allowing it to take on the full look of your site, and allowing it to be secured within your Joomla security. Not quite completely polished, but very usable.

I also found a component called EasyFAQ that really enhances the FAQ feature of Joomla... simple but nice.

Of course, the AllVideos mambot is incredible, too. Came as a recommendation from in here.

I've also paid the money for WysiwygPro as my editor. Worth every penny. Another purchase was EasyPHPCalendar which can be run inside a Joomla module nicely... not a better calendar out there for Joomla, but uses separate security.

Those and Community Builder matched with Joomlaboard and Uddeim (private messaging) are my favorites.
