SOLVED Has anyone ever done image mapping in joomla?

- I am trying to put up a menu that the links are image mapped to up in some of my content items. Unfortunately, everytime I hit apply, it strips the mapping off. So when I go back to the content item all that's in the html is the picture..all of the image mapping is gone. So I'm left with a pretty picture that does nothing:( Anyone know how to fix that?LOL

- Turn off WYSIWYG editing in the global configuration of your site. It is the WYSIWYG editor that is stripping out the html tags.

Yea, I read that in the joomla forum, and tried that...didn't work out well though. Basically, it worked...but if you ever opened the content item up again with the editor on, it stripped out the mapping. So anytime I would need to edit the content items that have image mapping, if I used the editor, i would have to go turn it off and put the mapping back in:( I found the solution though. There is a extended features spot in the JCE editor configuration page. I added some syntax to it to tell it to allow area and map. Works great now..I'll put the exact syntax in here in a few minutes:)

Edit: Ok...There is an Extended Elements spot in the JCE configuration page...and I had to put "map[name],area[shape|coords|href]" in there. Now it works wonderfully, and I don't have to worry about it stripping it out when I go back to the page:) - Last Edit: 18 years 1 month ago by William E Dooley.
