Since I joined this happy band, I've become addicted to fiddling with the code that makes up the themes and what not. I'm not very good at it, yet.. But I have found four tools I couldn't live without.
Perhaps there is a fifth or sixth out there I should know about?
Of course you should be using the latest Firefox (IE has been 'shelf ware' since about 1999) then add to it, FireBug, and FireFTP - (please donate) - I use "Paint.Net" to edit Graphics 'on the fly', and Geany to dabble with the rest of the file types on the site. (TXT.PHP.and XML)

ACDSee Pro 2 (the newest version sucks) for photo editing.
FlashFXP or FileZilla
UltraEdit or Notepad++
VMWare and lots of OS'es
Foxit Reader (for those pesky PDF's)
