In the meantime, the only way to do this is to hack the product display pages of the VirtueMart core itself. Not for the faint of heart (or anybody not used to wading through PHP code).
Your best bet for an easy(ish) solution would be the VirtueMart forums, there are a lot of hacks available there, and something might get you close to what you want. - www.gofftech.com Web Design

That isn't currently being done on VirtueMart, though. That thread is about someone trying to get their VM to look like that.
It looks like an answer is emerging there as well, which is to get the Extended Product Info plugin (don't really know what that is, but assume it is in the forums or the downloads there), and start from there.
It looks like there would still be a fair amount of work to get that sort of look out of VM, but it is possible.
If you have a programming/coding background, or if you are willing to learn, then you can do it yourself, just keep your painkiller of choice close at hand.
If diving into it at that level isn't what you have in mind, mock up what you want it to look like in your favorite image editing program (like Fireworks), and then search around for an experienced WebHead (probably with VM experience) to do it for you on a contract basis. - www.gofftech.com Web Design
