Can User Menu show Unpublished Items?

Guys,
I have a publisher who is submitting articles to her site. The site is an online newsletter and she doesn't want to publish the stories until the paper copy hits the shops. However, after she has submitted the article without publishing it, she cannot then log back into the front end to publish the story because it is unpublished.
Is there any way her user menu could list all unpublished articles that she has submitted so she herself could publish them without having to contact me. - i am then having to log into the back-end and publish them for her as administrator. - kind of defeats the purpose.

You could try setting up a new Section/ Category or Category - Unpublished Articles (for example) and have this Section/ Category or Category set to not be displayed on the site. Once the time has come to publish articles in this category she simply has to change the Section/ Category or Category.
