    • I use mailchimp for sending out newsletters to my organisations members. The features of stats, tracking and newsletter is very easy to set up.

There isn't joomla integration, but you can export a list of user names and email addresses from phpmyadmin into a csv file and import it into mailchimp.

    • I use acymailing, pretty good and pretty easy to set up too.
cc_newsletter is also a good free alternative.

    • The person I am doing a website for wants everything to be very simple and they want the newsletter to look like a webpage. I have checked out most of the newsletters that you have mentioned on here already.

the simplest one I found was cc_newsletter, but this seems to be only a subscription to the newsletter, it doesn't actually show you any newsletters on the website, unless I have set up wrong.

The best one I ever used was Letterman, but this is not compatible with 1.5, although they say it is in legacy mode, it ain't, I've tried it.

    • That is the way it is, may reason not to go with it was that.

    • People always have to be awkward :P Basically this person really wants the newsletter and images to be on a webpage so you can just scroll through and read. Yes this could be okay, but it would need a lot more editing

    • But it will never have such finegrained statistics like mailchimp ...

I haven't found anything better, took me only 10 mins to sort out and send out this months newsletter.
