    • This may be a Joomla question. If so, just tell me and I pack my little valise and head over there.

      Anyway, I'm developing a site in Joomla Server on my local machine. I've just noticed that each time I rollover a link, the 'finge' icon disappears. The link still works but the finger icon is gone both in the front end and the backend Joomla admin panel. When I move the cursor when it's over the link, the finger icon image flashes. The moment I stop moving the cursor, the finger disappears and the usual arrow appears on the link.

      QUESTION:
      What would make this cat this way? It's acting like some number crunching is going on behind the scene (a process running).

      When looking at another local site with Joomla Server, everything looks fine. It doesn't seem to be a problem with Apache, PHP or MySQL. Any ideas on what I should check?

    • the only think i could think of is there is some css that is changing the pointer, if you know the css element in question you can put something like:

      a.pickylink {
      cursor: pointer;
      }

      this will ensure the hand is used.

      Ah! That's a good direction to look. I have been heavily editing CSS. Thanks Andy! ;)

    • Sooooo Many ways to respond to that topic title Dave..........!!!!! ;D

      O.K. I'm not gonna do it. I promised I would behave in accordance with RT policy. ;D

      I started to get the shakes when I first read it, (after spewing coffee on keyboard, monitor, cat)......Took deep breath, Opened cold beer, Counted to ten......

      Phew! I almost thought I was going to do it.

      Oh yeah to keep on topic. Yeah it sounds like a CSS fix should do it.

      Thanks, SureLurksalot, sir. You and Andy, great minds think alike!

      I just got back from my night shoo at the Lincoln Memorial. It was bitter cold but no snow or rain this evening. I didn't get a lot, but I went to Georgetown with a friend and had dinner. I just had a little meat and some veggies, that you could have poured out of a can, but left there over $100 short. I guess the part that got me was that the restroom was downstairs and was a big room with about ten doors for both males and females to use. If I were the ladies, I'd be pissed. Men had splattered all over the place and then a lady would have to go in there and use it! They call that 'progressive'? Sounds like caveman days.

      I'll post a pic or two after I solve this CSS issue. Thanks guy!

    • Man, I'm very embarrassed! I loaded up that website (on a local server) and it is working fine. I didn't do anything! I think I may have had an issue going with running Joomla Server and WAMP at the same time. I usually run one or the other because they cause a conflict together.

      Oh well! Sorry for the false alarm. I appreciate the willingness to help. Thanks much!

    • **and a rat - tat - tat goes "the finger", tapping away at the keyboard, as Dave G conjures up episode two of 'the rocket chronicles'.**

      Please don't lose that finger again Dave. Always keep it within view.
