    • Sorry to read this Donna. Hope it will work out for you. Food recalls are very scary.

    • Donna - any results back from your vet? I am hoping that things turn out OK for your pups! I have dogs too - and went through a prior recall scare. These food recalls are really scary.

    • When the lab results came back they said to bring him in right away. The put him on fluids and will keep him until his kidney function is normal and he can eat without vomiting.

      I miss him already!

Yeah, I remember just last year or so there was a recall for Diamond Pet Food.

    • Hate to dredge up the bad stuff, but this is still out there. Del Monte recalls some of its pet foods.

      www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...AR2007040100944.html
Another major U.S. pet food maker said yesterday that it is recalling some edible products for cats and dogs after learning from the Food and Drug Administration that the company had received tainted ingredients from a manufacturing plant in China.

Del Monte Pet Products, based in San Francisco, said that as a precautionary measure it was voluntarily recalling several items, including Gravy Train Beef Sticks, Jerky Treats and Pounce Meaty Morsels, as well as others sold under private labels.

      [snip]

Several other pet food manufacturers also have been affected by recalls, including Nestle Purina PetCare Co., which makes Alpo brand dog food; Menu Foods, headquartered in Streetsville, Ontario; Proctor & Gamble's Iams and Eukanuba; and Nestle S.A., maker of Mighty Dog and other brands.

    • The picture of the little dog just breaks your heart. It is an awesome responsibility to care for a pet; decisions you make can have huge affects its life.

    • Go to this website to sign a petition to regulate what goes in pet food.

      www.petitionz.org

Many thanks to Andy and everyone who has visited PETitionz and voted in the polls or signed the PETition! Being owned by 7 healthy cats, I can only imagine the concern and agony that people are going through. We now have people from 10 countries contributing to the site. Please spread the word as the pressure needs to mount on politicians and pet food companies to get this tragedy straightened out.

Best regards and thanks to all Rocketeers!
