My boss engineered his own demise when our name server went down and he taught me how to spoof the DNS so that I could keep working on stuff that day.
Yesterday morning, inspired by Yves' horrible site posting on my boss' computer I changed the DNS entry of every in-production website we have to this site;
thebiguglywebsite.com/
The look of confusion and horror on his face when he tried to find the first site was pretty much worth it. Of course, I can't say that anyone wouldn't have that same look on his face when staring at "the big ugly website" but that's another story.
He's smart, he figured out the prank as soon as my other coworker chimed in, "Maybe it's the server? Try another one of the sites." I had to buy him coffee and fix the entries. Phooey. There had to have been a way to do that better and make it funnier. Fun while it lasted.

Now that I think about it that was a pretty lame prank, but it made me giggle a little. At least I'm inflicting the horror of the big ugly website on others too.

Here is the prank I pulled on my boss yesterday
My boss is a HUGE Texas A&M fan so I sent him this message at 6:15 this morning:
David,
Have you been following this story? This is going to be HUGE!

I sent the link out to him at 6:15 this morning and I blind copied his boss and all my peers. At 8 am I received this reply
I have not heard anything about it. I did vote on the survey however. Interesting as the Texas media normally would be all over it. Will have to check now.
I believe I did hear that the entire blame was at this point going to be laid on the Miami Dolphins.
Of course I thought someone spilled the beans because that was WAY too controlled a response. So at 3:45 this afternoon I was talking to him on the phone and I asked "What did you think of that link I sent you this morning?" (I was digging )
He said "Where did you find that? I had not seen anything about that in the local news. In fact, after work today I had planned to research it a bit more."
I said "I guess you didn't click 'read more'."
and he responded "What I read was ugly enough, I didn't want to read more"
I told him "If you had, you would have seen it was an April Fools joke!"
He said "Fanner, you are an x@!?# !" (SUCCESS!!!!!)
Then he sent the link on to all his colleagues with this in the subject line
