    • As i'm quite new to the Joomla/RT environment i was wondering how much times it takes between a new version of Joomla en the migration of the RT themes and extensions.
I'm running on Kinetic now, with several extensions. But we are looking for some kind of ACL. As i've seen that several aren't quite compatible with RT, and having seen that 1.6 coves enough ACl for us, and that the first release is scheduled for june/july I am tented to wait until 1.6 is available instead of goign in a separate ACL tool.
But there the questions pops up ... what about the RT stuff i'm using .....

    • You won't see a release of RT J1.6 templates until J1.6 is stable.

      www.joomla.org/component/content/article/5252.html

There's no point in trying to release templates in the Alpha or Beta stage when changes in the J core can throw off a whole release.

Rest assured, the Team is working behind the scenes while Joomla does what Joomla does, closing in on its stable release...

But there's not point in RT (or any other template club) rushing to bang out a template or templates based on half-baked Joomla code.

You mention ACL components not functioning with RT templates but offer no specifics...

As always, the quickest way to get support is to post in the template specific forum for the template you are using with the proper details as outlined here:

    • Its not that i'm wanting to tets it now. I was just wondering/informing on how much time it might take, after a stable 1.6 is released that RT technology would be adapted to 1.6.
I'm having time till jan 2011 so for me there is no rush.
I reada few articles on problems with ACL components, that why i mentioned it, there is no need to get started with custom components if there is a integrated solution coming in a fex months.

      Kind Regards

    • Just be patient.

As I may have mentioned before, I am sure the Team is working behind the scenes, but you won't see J1.5 templates ported over to J1.6 until there is a stable release.

Wait for a stable J1.6 release and then figure on a month or so (maybe more) for RT to 'catch up' with their conversions.

But, according to the news on joomla.org, this won't be happening for a while.... (summer/fall of 2010)
