Its sort of official now - the speed of your site can effect your search ranking.
So, if you have any tips, put them here. The first one and I can't stress this enough is Gantry cache and the RokGZipper - you must put these on to make your site faster. - www.c3p0.se - sweden

- After reading this, and performing a test, I have to ask, how valid are these tests? My own site received a pretty bad grade, and I think that it runs pretty well. I also ran a test against rockettheme.com, and that didn't fare much better. So are these tests useful?

Depends on which sites you have used. Most of those online testing sites are useless because they want to sell you unneeded stuff...
YSlow add-on for Firefox is decent though but not completely perfect. - Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.

I normally add etags none and far future expiration to elements in my htaccess file.
These don't speed up the site on initial page load, but they help once the user is on the site. They will also improve your yslow grade quite a bit.
Here's my standard entries:

Maybe a Mod would know.,.
WIth the advent of Gantry pretty much locking in layouts to the 960gs, would that make it easier to provide css sprites for template images?
That would definitely speed up the sites much like afterburner did.
Also if anyone can tell me how to add a cdn to my yslow I'd appreciate it. I went through the tuts but they were pretty useless (outdated as far as I can tell).
