    • Hello Fellow Rocketheads,

I’m looking for a bit of help creating a new template and am not sure where to turn. I’m working with rt_crystalline_j15 as my base template and need it work out something that looks like this site.

      Link: http://pixelpipe.com/

My site is very simple but I’m just not that good at making templates. Is anyone able to help with something like this or maybe have a template they would share with me?

In the end the site will use the content creation power of joomla including all the modules, the site will just not have many pages, maybe 15 to 20 in total.

      Thank you all.
      Gerald Scott

    • First off, new template or new site, you mention 'template' vs. 'site' a couple of times?

If you want a custom 'one off' template, or complete customization of an existing design, or want someone to build the site for you, you should post here:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=175&rb_v=viewforum

(At the risk of sounding harsh, we are here to support the products we provide, not build websites for members.)

Second, comparing Crystalline to the site you provided a link to, I wouldn't recommend using Crystalline.

Because of the Color Chooser, you won't be able to recreate something that looks like that, i.e., rounded corners, etc.

I'd recommend looking at other templates than more closely match the look and feel of what you want with minimal customization.

As far as building the site, once you have chosen a template, post in the forum for the specific template you are using, you should be able to get ample template related support there.
My site is very simple but I’m just not that good at making templates.

Again, if you are talking about creating a site with Jooomla vs. a full blown template, understanding the basics is the key.

      Follow this link:

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=15&t=54455&rb_v=viewtopic

Scroll to Joomla Basics, there are tons of tutorials that will help you master the basics; Sections, Categories, Articles, Menus, Modules, etc.

I believe with choosing the template that is right for you (only yo can do that), understanding the basics of Joomla, and using the forums you can achieve your goal.

    • Hello Jem,

I think we may have a language problem. When someone starts a letter or post with “first off” it’s reasonable to expect some kind of punitive response. As a global moderator it may have been helpful if you reviewed my past posting to gain a better understanding of me as a Rocket Theme Member; before you make “harsh” comments.

I have a full understanding of the content creation tools built into the Joomla CMS. My question, however poorly expressed, was simply asking if anyone could suggest a Rocket Theme that most closely matched the site I used as a demo. I would like to put this posting too rest and have no further interaction on this topic.

Thank you for the help, have a nice day.
