    • To make it interesting list how many you own, how many you own that are developed, and how many you own that at least cover their hosting costs on a regular basis.

    • I own 11 total, the only one that maintains itself at all is www.betougher.com
the other developed is show-e-records.com (soon to be redone with joomla)

would be cool if there was an awesome record label / music showcasing template on RT... I wonder which one would work best for a record label site?

    • i own about 30 domain names now (used to be loads more); of those i have three primary domains and under those about 20 which are associated because of name or kept 'just in case' the three primary all pay for themselves

the other domains are all 'in development'

i used to buy domain names just for the sake of it ... now i'm a lot more careful about what i buy. i did find c3p0.biz the other day though and just had to have it .. and i also purchased damo.se as i live in sweden and i couldn't get it with .co.uk or .com

    • Hundreds. They all pay for themselves, most make money (not much). I have some creative parking techniques that work well and I'm always experimenting with others. I have scripts where I can create and publish 25-30 domains per hour. The content is automated and mixed so it does get "ranked" without a park penalty. After I run them through the hatchery and they get ranked, I sell them and make a few bucks here and there.

I don't do it for the money, I do it for the technology. That's my hobby, playing with the toys. Just some toys make a buck or two along the way. A guy bet me I couldn't make any money with a Joomla site so I played with some automated toys and published a site. Since then it keeps making more money every month. (I think I'll keep that one)

That's me 8) . Not really, what I do is SEO hatching. I run the sites until they get out of the sandbox and either sell them or develop them. Depends on how much traffic they get. They aren't just parked, they have content.

The "squatters" you are speaking of do it on this scale. www.bobparsons.com/DomainKiting.html  ; 32 million domains out of circulation, for free. At least I pay for mine and keep them at least 1 year.

    • Yup. nothing pisses me off more than cooking up this really cool idea for a website, then i check the name and BLAM its registered, not in use, parked, or worse, involved in this BS kiting garbage... Nothing wrong with a person owning tons of names if they buy them and plan to use them, but at least pay for them... I hate those stupid link clicker scam sites and they are EVERYWHERE, and taking up good search engine spots for the rest of us with legit sites.
