I would like to know if some of you have a clue about how Mashable.com makes to load the images only when you scroll down through the page and not before. If you scroll down on Mashable's frontpage, you will see that the images appear just when the browser display needs to display them and not before.

Thank you very much. Now I'm convinced that I really need to start learning jQuery. There are so many nice plugins and implementations of jQuery that right now is a must-learn.
