Sometimes working in a bar is great...Free Drinks and Food...Lovely scantily clad young ladies all about.......(drunk young ladies at that) ;D Lots of fun people having a good time. Decent money.
But sometimes something goes wrong. Someone decides to become an absolute A-**** and tries to ruin everyone else's fun evening.
I find myself working in a bar several nights a week, and tonight just sucked. Three or four fights, lots of drunken stupidity, more than the 6'8" 400# Security guy could deal with. Police had to sort it out. etc.....
What's this got to do with RT? Nothing.
Drunk people suck sometimes! (I think I'll go and have a few myself now)
Whats your worst barroom experience? ( besides getting too drunk and tossing your cookies)?????? - Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I used to work in one for a while too. I loved it mostly, but yea drunk guys suck.
It especially sucks when your gf comes to visit you at the bar, and half the guys spend half the night trying to pick her up, so you are trying to fend the customers off from your woman. Then as the guys keep buying her drinks to try and get her wasted you keep watering them down more and more. ;D
The best one though was when she came with her boss and co workers, and her boss kept trying to pick her up. Even to the extent I mentioned above where he kept buying her more and more drinks.
He didn't realise I was her boyfriend, then later in the night he saw me grab her and kiss her briefly and complained to my boss about me 'harassing' and 'taking advantage of' customers, because he was shitty she was rejecting him but not me. That was funny once my boss calmed down.

Yes working in a bar can be really fun and entertaining. Listening to customers, watching them get drunker and drunker and forget about the bad day that they've had, providing guidance: "Here drink this!"
Sometimes you have to offer cheap psychotherapy, being asked advise about all sorts of things :
Marital, Job and Other
Watching patrons drool over your co-workers and friends. Mixing up something strange and terrible and then giving it to the really drunk and obnoxious fellow to "test" is always a lot of fun... ;D
Viewing peoples cell phone video nastiness seems to be getting more and more popular for some reason......
(saw a terrible one last night involving ******************** on second thought I better not post that.....
)
Great dirty jokes, occasional drunken nakedness, loud music, pool, darts, etc.
Knowing a bunch of "regulars" is kind of fun too, makes it more like a home away from home sometimes.
You get to know some people pretty well and miss them when they don't make it out.
All these things are great fun until somebody decides they just want to pick a fight and all hell breaks loose.
I wish folks like that would just stay home. Thankfully it doesn't happen every night and when it does these people get to meet "Lurch" the nicest guy in the world. (he kind of looks like Lurch from the Addams Family) A great calming effect usually happens when he gets involved. People apologize to each other and buy rounds the situation diffuses itself everyone gets back to having fun.
Last night that didn't happen, but tomorrow is another night........... - Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Wow. I miss working at a bar. It was so much fun when I was younger and cuter.
I won't spread any stereotypes, but there was one day out of the week where we attracted a different crowd than normal. I didn't care for Tuesdays much. The people that showed up were very pushy and rude and always ordered a lot of drinks, but didn't tip. After a while I got used to it and found that the more standoffish I got, the more "respect" I got in return and things worked out better.
I would bartend again in a heartbeat. I don't think we ever had a fight in the year I was there.
