Submenu items dissapearing if the submenu item takes you to a component?

  • Submenu items dissapearing if the submenu item takes you to a component?

    • Is there a way to have your submenu work like you have it linked to content items when you have it linking to a component? What I eman is normally, if my submenu item is linking to a content item, when I click on the menu item, it highlights or something, takes me to the page, and the submenu stays open with the page I am on highlighted somehow to let me know I am on that page. However, when I the submenu items going to a link to a component, when you click the menu item, it takes you where you need to go, but the whole submenu disappears. Actually, I just checked and it also unhighlights the main menu item also. So basically, it takes away the entire pathway when I go to this component. I don't know if this is a problem with the component, or if this is a problem with the way the menu works. Just incase it's needed, the component is support services. I'll have to test and see if it does it with other components or just this one. However, if anyone has encountered this before and knows how to fix it, please let me know, because it is really annoying:)

      Thanks,

    • Well, I have the maker of the component looking into it and trying to find a fix. It is a commercial component, and I bought the extra year of support, so he should be able to fix the problem. If anyone else has had this problem and has not been able to fix it, let me know. I will post the answer to the problem here if I find that others need it:)

    • Still have no idea how to fix this. Gave the component maker super admin access to my site. Hopefully he can come up with something. Could it possibly have something to do with the button menu? I know some people have had problems using link-url type emnu items with the button menu. Maybe this is another problem stemming from the same problem?

    • It seems, after a bit of trial and error, that this is a problem with the split menu system and using link-url menu items. Anyone been able to overcome this problem?

    • Well, I've seen this question posted a few different times on a few different boards here. Hopefully some sort of resolution is found to this problem, because it seems to be affecting quite a few people here. I am trying different things, but as of yet have been unable to find a solution for this problem. Hopefully either I stumble onto one, or those with more knowledge on these things than me decide to lend us a hand sometime soon:)

      Thanks,

    • OK, my guy who made the component that I originally found this problem with has not been able to come up with any solutions. He seems to think, and I agree, that the root of the problem is the menu system. So hopefully this menu linking problem gets some sort of workaround or solution sometime soon:(
