I used latest version of Xampp 1.7.4 with latest version of Akeeba.
I googled for this error and found that the Xampp is simply too new for Joomla with RT templates.
      No,actually it's PHP 5.3 :(Nicholas K. Dionysopoulos-Akeeba Staff wrote:
As I mention in the Troubleshooting Wizard, using PHP 5.3 with Joomla! doesn't work. Most extension won't work, including plugins. One of the side-effects is not being able to login. Please use a local server environment with PHP 5.2, like Zend Server CE with PHP 5.2 or XAMPP 1.7.1 (more links are also to be found in the Troubleshooting Wizard).

This kind of post-restoration issues are caused by an incompatibility of your PHP version with the extensions installed on the restored site. Both of them are beyond our control. It's not a problem with Akeeba Backup. You will either have to stop using your extensions (highly unlikely and very well respected, if you ask me) or downgrade to a server environment with PHP 5.2. There is no other alternative, unfortunately.

I guess I am off to experiment with Pancesa theme using RocketLauncher on Xampp 1.7.4.
I'm running templates from Versatility 4 to Maelstrom on XAMPP 1.7.4 and although I've had some other niggling issues, fortunately, I've not seen this one.

    • I went through every option. It is clearly a xampp issue. I installed the 1.7.3 version too, since 1.7.4 gives issues. It is also in the release notes of Xampp that 1.7.4 does not work on 64 bit.
It is clearly not a rockettheme problem, it is windows 7 not working with latest xampp version.

I agree with Roeland_A!, this is NOT a Rocket theme issue. However I still believe it's tied to the PHP 5.3.x family as only XAMPP v1.7.1 ran the PHP v5.2.0 family. Everything after that ran the PHP 5.3.x family.

There is another option, recently I've been running WampServer64 which I loved but dumped because of errors I realize now are 5.3.x's fault. I went back to the XAMPP 32bit version and although some of those errors went away I have new ones now.
The perfect scenario would be WampServer64 running PHP v5.2.x. The author has stated that he has obtained a 64bit version of PHP 5.2.1.6 but when he finds the time he'll have to compile it.
So if you want a true 64bit local server app visit his forum -> Pamp Server Forum and put up a thread indicating you would like to see a PHP 5.2.x for his software.
