    • If someone could tell me the secret of opening Joomla in a different them without changing the theme via the administrator panel it would help me tremendously..

Idea of what I am talking about:

      foo.com/index.php ?open_theme=7

Please tell me a secret like this exists too.... ;D

Publish the Template Manager module and use it to change templates on the fly. ;)
If you do not want the general public to see the Template Manager, then set the access level to Admin (for example).

If you are using a template that has different styles such as Replicator (for example), then you may add the following prefix to your url to change the style on the fly:
      ?tstyle=style1
      For example:
www.yoursite.com/index.php?tstyle=style1 (this will load style 1 of your template)
www.yoursite.com/index.php?tstyle=style2 (this will load style 2 of your template)
      etc.

In addition, you can choose to set which pages that a template appears on in the Template Editor screen (admin backend).

      I hope that helps.

      Cheers!

    • None of that works

I see a template manager module in the admin page. There doesn't seem to be any way to publish this for admins only and which is viewable in the user mode screen.

Also this doesn't do anything for me at all www.yoursite.com/index.php?tstyle=style1 (this will load style 1 of your template)

Maybe you have a different version of Joomla as I am running 1.0.12 or perhaps you have something special installed which is not on my system.

See the attached image. Admin backend/ Modules/ Site Modules and then click the Template Chooser module to edit it.

What template are you using? Does this template offer various styles? Can you provide a link? With a template with various styles this works out of the box.
