phpBB 3 bridge to Joomla! 1.5...

    • any update? even just a message that you progressed 1 (in words: one) % more would make me a happy camper, right now I'm working with a portal mod on a Phpbb RC5 test install, but it's just not the same in terms of flexibility and comfort (lots of manual edits)

Which is exactly why I'm eagerly awaiting any progress updates ;)

    • it's pretty much done.. only one part is left that will be done next week.. That is the phpbb to joomla profile sync. The joomla to phpbb side is working fine, login/logout etc is also fine. I'm going to start testing it this week, but things are looking good for a very nice/clean and efficient solution.

    • Andy some of the joomla coders 101 have talked about doing modules as our first projects
I suggested we consider doing latest post etc modules for phpbb3
any chance you could use testers?

    • i definately think that a bunch of modules like that would be great. We should be at a point soon where we are at a state to do some testing. the bridge is actually a joomla application, not even a component, so it's a clean layer between the two. we're going to get some documentation written up this week to at least get things rolling. cheers.

    • good deal, the joombies are still putting together our common IDE and getting a streaming conference site together but if you want us to test or take a shot at the modules send me a pm or visit us on the joomla coders 101 forums.
We also have an open skype chat if you want to stop by

    • I've been spending a bit of time on phpbb3 in preparation for much phpbb3-Joomla websites we're going to see people doing in the future. It's great!

    • It has vastly improved
I was shocked after having not looked at it in a few years. I even saw the latest release deals with embedded variables
should make it easier to integrate I hope.

    • Yip. I am still waiting for a few more essential mods to be released, but overall, I am also very impressed.
