The rumour is that RC1 will be released in a week or two. As for a stable, keep in mind that there can be no stable until J1.5 is stable. So when will that be you ask...
A release of Mambo 4.7 is getting closer and closer, and as per usual, Joomla will do whatever it takes to release a stable before Mambo does.
Competition is always a good thing for the consumer
... it won't be long now.

Not sure what you mean by this Gollum, Joomla certainly does not base it's releases around anyone else. I for one had no clue mambo was releasing 4.7 soon, why do people think there is this bitter thing going on between the projects????. Anyway.. that's off topic.
the RC1 of the bridge will be released next week. It's currently available to the private beta test team, but next week will be made generally available to anyone.

I didn't mention any bitterness.. just that there is some healthy competition going on behind the scenes.
I'm quite disappointed to hear that there isn't. Competition is a good thing.
