Help!! Site down after failed Gantry upgrade

  • Help!! Site down after failed Gantry upgrade

Posted 12 years 1 month ago
    • I have a site that uses Crystalline. I logged in and noticed that Gantry needed to be updated. I clicked on the update, but something went wrong. Now when I try to access the site I get:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getWord() on a non-object in /home/humanen/public_html/libraries/gantry/gantry.php on line 189

If I try to log into the admin area, I get:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getString() on a non-object in /home/humanen/public_html/plugins/system/gantry/gantry.php on line 186

      The site is www.humanenergynetwork.com

    • Use PhpMyAdmin to access your DB and got to your-prefix_template_styles and set rt_crystalline published to 0. Then set Beez_20 to 1.

The Joomla template doesn't use Gantry so you should be able to access the backend.

    • I have this problem too, but after an upgrade to the Camber Template.

Changed the front-end template to Beez, and the front end opens okay with altered template, but the administrator area is still inaccessible, no matter which admin template is chosen via PHPadmin through the database, (either Hathor or Bluestork).

Still getting this message on attempts to get into the admin URL.

Fatal error: Call to a member function getString() on a non-object in /hsphere/local/home/e1003c/macksvilleexservices.com.au/plugins/system/gantry/gantry.php on line 186

      Any help appreciated!

Bad hair day :( (I have little)
I misspoke in the other post, it should have read Bluestork or Hathor.
What happens if you delete the Gantry folders and with the DB set to Bluestork to Admin template, can you gain access to the backend.
If your still having issues could you please PM me your Cpanel access and failing that could you please create a Super Admin login for me and PM it to me, along with FTP access info so that I can take a look.

    • Hi Dan,

Removing the gantry folder in the plugins folder did the trick. I was able to get back in after that, upgrade to Joomla 2.5.9 and upgrade Gantry, and then switch back to Camber.

      Thanks for your help!

      I really appreciate it.

    • I got the same message after I updated Gantry in Extension Manager (Joomla 1.7). I updated the Gantry plugin before the Joomla 2.5 version.

How do I fix this, step by step?

I have tried to deleted the gantry folder (/plugins/system/gantry) with no luck

      Grateful for quick help!
      Thanks

      See -> www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=48...94346&rb_v=viewtopic

      Thanks for your reply.

So I delete the Gantry framework, and then what happens?
Will I be able to go backend of my site without change template in the database?
If I could. Should I update Joomla or Gantry first?

And which Gantry should I use? gantry-framework.org/download

Sorry for all the questions. Is it possible for me to PM you all the info and you could have a look at the site/template?

Upgrade your J17 to J25 and re-install Gantry 4.Adam Arvidsson wrote:

Yes but subsequent re-installs of Gantry 4 might be problematic for you.Adam Arvidsson wrote:

Definitely update to to J2.5.9 as J1.7 is less secure and basically less everything....and then re-install Gantry 4.Adam Arvidsson wrote:

The latest Gantry 4 at the link I provided in my last post.
