Re: r ( General / Configuration and Security )

Henning's Avatar

Joomla 1.5 has reached end of life .... http://docs.joomla.org/Joomla!_CMS_versions There won't be any updates for J!1.5. So do we. http://www.rockettheme.com/blog/joomla/1327-support-for-joomla-15-25-and-the-future We dropped and stopped support for all J!1.5 templates and extensions. Joomla 1.5 can be considered as a dead and unsecure platform. You need to migrate to J!2.5 Since VM still hasn't proved to work stable enough in a production environment we don't support it. So while Mynxx was updated to Joomla 2.5 it doesnt support Virtuemart anymore. That may change with VM getting more stable and secure. But that's not the status quo.

Look, first you have added questions to other people's threads, in the wrong areas. I never look in the general area to answer questions related to a template. I always look at the original question, not at the me too's and only in the template area. Second: You are asking questions that are difficult to understand, I do not really understand the question you posted there. What this suggests to me, is that you did not receive support for your question, because you added them to other peoples posts or you posted in the wrong areas. The question of the original poster were answered. As it seems to me now, you have never followed the normal route to get support for an issue. I do believe that that is the essential problem here.

I'm not saying you're lying, but until proven otherwise it is me your client who is the user's template and am faced with the problem long ago and found alone a solution to it. The question of the Captcha problem has already been asked on your forum and has never been solved (read my old topic and contributions if you have any doubt), and the VM forum or other community, everyone refers me to your forum. So who should we contact for support? The points raised 2-5 find an answer to the fact that my subscription was long over and I did not want to renew it because it does not really worthy since you say you own the problem does not come from your module/development. So I think I was right not to renew my subscription to get that kind of support about bugs encountered that would not have found the solution here? I do not intend to waste my time by replying to someone who does not really want help but wishes to start a flame war and starts insinuating that I am a lyer. Contrary to what you say, I reported all problems whenever I could as my subscription was active and since i was using VM version 1.1.4 to the 1.1.8... this topic for example : http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=21&t=66633&rb_v=viewtopic It is an example of the problem met with this commercial template/module : is there any answer at the end? And i do not see why I should apologize to clarify this point to the reader of this topic but i will also stop wasting time to read and explain that few important bugs in you commercial template can't be solved here! Thanks.

- First: you insist to state that it is my module. This clearly is wrong and showing that you never really read my posts. I am a rockettheme moderater and not the owner of Rockettheme, neither am I a developer for rockettheme. - Second: You hijacked a thread, did not even care to apologize to the original poster. -Third: You still do not provide me with a list of bugs. - Fourth: Then you continue on with complaining about a module for a version of joomla that is no longer supported. - Fifth: You start insinuating that I am lying. Now that really is a bad way to get any help at all. - Sixth: Only in your last posts you start talking about the module. Concluding: You jump from one issue to another, and now start with namecalling. You have never actually replied to any of my questions, my requests for more information on your problems. If you insist that VM never had problems with SEF, (I am talking about V1.1.4, then you certainly do not have your facts straight). This is guaranteed my last reply to this post. I do not intend to waste my time by replying to someone who does not really want help but wishes to start a flame war and starts insinuating that I am a lyer.

i don't ignore what you wrote but you don't tell the truth. When i stopped using RokVirtueMart Product Categories in the website and use a standard joomla menu for VM then all the SEF works correcty even if i use a 3rd SEF component such as sh404 for example. The only thing that does not work for the sef/seo urls is YOUR menu module. So it does mean that you have not considered or incorporated this sef element in the development of your module, it has nothing to do with VM, and do not seek to change it either. Moreover, the url rewritting system of VM operates normally in my joomla website at the same time it didn't work correctly with your module. This module was developped by RT ("RokVirtueMart Product Categories") and not by VM. This problem has been also told on the VM forum and a lot of others joomla forum : So you're telling the truth and VM developers lie? I don't see what interest they have to do this.

Indeed this is pointless, since you ignore completely what I wrote and the fact that SEF has never worked properly on VM itself. I do not deny anything, I am pointing out the facts, but you care to ignore those. Regards to you to.

and i add to finish that your module "RokVirtueMart Product Categories" has been updated in my template each time as possible and on 2 years, i've never seen any modification in the way that this module considere the rewritting method of VM Urls (but this module is supposed to work with VM?? a major point of referencing has been neglected for Internet professionals and joomla it's amazing! ) Moreover, this kind of discussion is pointless: your only goal and deny any form of neglect in the development of functionality modules and templates sold. The RokVirtueMart Product Categories has been updated more than 10 times but one of the major problem of this module has never been solved! regards!

SEF URLS is a problem which has NOTHING to do with the template, this is a VM problem alltogether and has never functioned properly in VM 1.1.4. I have posted a number of solutions, handcoding and debugging for members (and I am only a moderator), providing in essence support for VM and not for the template. So the moment you mention that as a template issue, you should read up and get the facts correct. You know that it's false and wrong : you have the nerve to kick for touch, you know better than me that you advertise your template compatible with VM component and so must consider ALL the constraints of this component, in particular routing SEF component concerned! Do not pretend to ignore it, it's so easy! I have debug more than a dozen pages of your template to work properly with Virtuemart V 1.1.4, 1.1.6 and 1.1.9, you want vraiement that I balance the list wrong damn file? We may have a good laugh! You want an example? Your navigation menu module for VM does NOT considere any kind of rewriting url including the native VM routing SEF and joomal System : all url in this menu module are not correctly rewritten : do you mean that it is to the joomla community to debug for free you own template that is a commercial template announced to work with VM?? Just write it in your documentation and customers will buy an other template!

Guess I have to post back here, not sure where else to ask. Roeland, how will I know when the bugfixed version of Mynxx is out? Looks like the latest was released in May, so should I just keep checking back and the newest version should have the bugfix you're talking about? Also, could you suggest a file comparison tool? On windows winmerge works great and is open source.

I used Mynxx since V1.5 and joomla V 1.1.4 VM, and since 2010, most of the bugs encountered in the template has never been supported: the list is long and I had to fend for myself only to debug and modify the code, weeks and days of work .... for someone who is not a developer. I care to disagree, I have debugged the V1.1.4 VM template version and did a lot of bug fixing. First one importatn issue to clarify: SEF URLS is a problem which has NOTHING to do with the template, this is a VM problem alltogether and has never functioned properly in VM 1.1.4. I have posted a number of solutions, handcoding and debugging for members (and I am only a moderator), providing in essence support for VM and not for the template. So the moment you mention that as a template issue, you should read up and get the facts correct. Now, using a captcha with VM 1.1.4 is another problem entirely, VM did not have its own captcha system, that you wish to use one has nothing to do with the template either. I would like to see the number of bugs that are according to you unresolved; show me a list. The only issue I am unsure about is the way in which prices for childproducts are presented, that is the only real possible bug that I am aware of. I have not told you to update. That is your choice to make, if you wish to run an ancient version of joomla, that does not support the newest developments, then you are free to do as you wish. By the way, I never get nervous, I prefer clarity. Check all my posts in the Mynx forum, you will find that I posted many solutions, to issues that were not even template problems, but solutions for VM problems. I have long now abondoned J1.5, but if you need help with template issues, that do not require any custom coding, let me know and I'll take a look. If you need any type of custom coding, better take a peek in the marketplace
